With what seems to be a constant barrage of negative gaming news surrounding the industry recently, once in a while we get something positive that deserves to be highlighted. One such move relates to an Xbox disc-to-digital initiative, code-named “Positron,” which is currently available to Xbox Insiders. What exactly is Positron? It’s a form of preservation initiative that grants owners of select Xbox One and Xbox Series X discs the ability to obtain a digital copy of the game, as long as the publisher allows its content to be available through the program. In simpler terms, it is the equivalent of ripping a CD on your computer back in the day.
